Raised in a Catholic environment, Monika Corey grew up with a basic knowledge of Jesus and Christianity. However, she admits that her personal relationship with Jesus began in her young adult years. A good friend invited her to a church called Valley Christian in their home community of Dublin, CA, after returning from a year at Monte Vista Christian School in Watsonville. 'She came back saved and obnoxious' Monika discloses sarcastically with a chuckle of memory. Monika accepted the invitation and recalls this as the first time she essentially sat through a basic church service. She enjoyed the sermon, responded to the call of Jesus, and became active in the church.

'My passion and gifting is for music,' Monika readily concedes. Green Valley Christian Center has been blessed to have her on staff as the assistant to Deanna, our Magnification Pastor. She prepares music, organizes choral events and practices, keeps in touch with choir members and other musicians, and overall serves to support Deanna and make the work easier for her. Besides having the opportunity to live out her passion, she enjoys this position because of the great friendship she has with Deanna. Furthermore, they both share the conviction that 'there is no room for mediocrity in ministry' and they truly work toward that end.

Monika loves to spend time with her family. She and her husband, Rich, have three children, Chad, Jaqueline, and Tommy. The proud parents look forward to continue helping their children 'navigate through life' and become successful. Whether she is relaxing and watching Sponge Bob with her kids or out to a nice dinner with her husband, Monika cherishes the time with her family. Additionally, Monika proclaims herself a social being and enjoys shopping, cooking, and entertaining guests.
